The Ecolodge

Tonga is known as the friendly islands, so we intend to be (eco)friendly too!

Our lodge here on Lifuka island is built entirely out of materials sourced from the island itself. With the help of the locals it has been designed to fit in will the style of the neighbouring villages to keep in with the spirit of Lifuka.

Your group will have their own fale (a Samoan style hut) right on the beach so you can enjoy the crystal clear waters from the moment you wake up. With our small team of attentive staff including guides, caterers, cleaners, diving instructors and dive masters every need is met.

All the staff are local people hired from the island and can give you the best tips on how to fully enjoy your stay.

How does the lodge work?

Utilising the flora removed to make way for the lodge, the trees Casuarina equisetifolia and Cocos nucifera were used for the walls and flooring of the building.

Solar panels on the roofs of our buildings power the lodges lighting and hot showers and each room has one mains socket provided by the islands power grid.

Clean boiled drinking water is provided in the dining hall and main reception for you to fill up your water bottles (provided by us) to ensure you remain hydrated during your stay.
